Nicolette Kay (Artistic Director) is currently developing My Name is Antonino Calderone. Trained at The Drama Centre , London, and worked in mainstream theatre. She was Artistic Director and founder of Muzikansky which was based at The Forum (a rock band venue) Nicolette ran Muzikansky's unscreen short film nights and workshops with disadvantaged girls, created a film festival and produced plays including the Time Out Critics’ Choice  Mary Stuart, The Dreams of Clytemnestra and Mela (all by Dacia Maraini and at the BAC), The B3 Team (Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith), the world premiere of Seed by Souad Faress (2004) and the London premiere of Love Child by Joanna Murray-Smith (2007) at the Finborough Theatre and Mud by Maria Irene Fornes (Etcetera Theatre). Writing includes the co-translation of Mary Stuart which was subsequently published and has been continuously performed in the English speaking world, the full-length Falling Out which won an Arts Council Award and A Short Message which was filmed at the Rutger Hauer Filmfactory. As a professional actress, she played leads with many companies including Cambridge Theatre Company, Derby Playhouse, The Gate, The Women’s Theatre Group and Ophelia opposite Edward Fox’s Hamlet at The Young Vic. She founded New Shoes Theatre in 2009. She specialises in producing lesser known work written by women.
